Before we commit to a scene, we size it up — read what's actually there before we act on it. That's this pillar. I pull recipes from the test kitchens and chefs everyone already trusts — America's Test Kitchen, Cook's Illustrated, The New York Times, Alton Brown, Gordon Ramsay, Samin Nosrat, Yotam Ottolenghi — and run them through a real firehouse kitchen. What worked, what I changed (bolded right in the recipe, so you always know what's theirs and what's mine), and how it actually played with the crew and the family. Graded on a simple 5-alarm scale, nobody gets a pass because of who wrote it.
